The Division of Student Life would like to congratulate Chloe Bliton on being selected as the recipient for the April 2015 Courage to Climb Award! Chloe is a senior from Nashville, Tennessee majoring in Psychology.
During her time at the University of Tennessee, Chloe served as a research assistant for the psychology department. She was involved in the writing and publication process for two manuscripts (one of which was her senior thesis), one poster presentation and assisted with the coding and editing of manuals and transcripts for Dr. Welsh’s research lab. Chloe’s focus in psychology and research is personality disorders and intimate partner violence. In addition to assisting in the research lab, Chloe spends a significant amount of time volunteering with Helen Ross McNabb where she aids with a runaway shelter for adolescents and a transitional living program.
“Chloe is the most exceptional research assistant that I have had the pleasure to work with at the University of Tennessee. She approaches this responsibility with extraordinary care, diligence and enthusiasm. My lab will be very sad to lose Chloe, but we are excited to about the many accomplishments that Chloe will undoubtedly achieve throughout her career,” her nominator said. Chloe is currently pursuing a Ph. D programs in clinical psychology and hopes to one day teach.
