Department of Justice Grant Award

The Center for Health Education & Wellness is one of 27 grant recipients for The Justice Department’s Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Grants to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking on Campus Program (campus program).

The proposed project, “Creating a Culture of Change: Reducing Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking” will address needs in the UT community for dedicated mental health resources, a growth in violence prevention work, a broadening of our bystander program, increased consistency in training and a state specific learning tool that introduces the concept of consent and sexual violence.

The Center for Health Education & Wellness (CHEW) serves as the primary office responsible for the implementation of the project in partnership with campus offices and community agencies as outlined in the IMOU & EMOU. The partnerships will be institutionalized through the monthly Coordinated Community Response (CCR) Team to ensure compliance with the goals and objectives of the project. The grant is a 3 year, 299,821.00 award.
