Do you want to play video games while hanging out and making friends in the UT community? Consider joining the UT Esports Club!
Esports club is a diverse organization on campus where video game lovers can gather together to create friendships, communicate, and bond through playing video games. Along with playing video games for fun, the Esports club gives students the opportunity to compete in multiple sports exhibitions to show off their skills.
The Esports club was created back in the fall semester of 2016, when it was first called the League of Legends club. After finding out that students have more interest in all video games, they decided to incorporate the wide range of games students wanted to play together.
The Esports club meets bi-weekly on Fridays in the Student Union room 262. The meetings begin at 6 p.m., but students are welcome to drop in whenever they want to! There is not a specific structure to the meetings, just planned themes. Even if you do not play games pertaining to the theme of the meeting, they encourage students to still bring their PCs or TVs to engage in the video game community.
If you would like to get involved in the Esports club, follow their Discord server and their social media pages. They post reminders and information about upcoming meetings and events, and their representatives are always happy to answer any questions or concerns students may have.
Come hangout with Esports club for friendly video game matchups!
