Big Orange Tix Reminders for This Basketball Season

by Bailey Ly

With basketball season starting up, we’re here to remind you that students get free tickets to home games with the help of Big Orange Tix!

What is Big Orange Tix?

Big Orange Tix is the way students reserve tickets for basketball and football games.

How does it work?

It’s easy, just follow these steps:

  1. First, go to the ticket portal site.
  2. If you’ve never logged in to Big Orange Tix, log in with your net id as the username and “guest” as the password. Afterward, you are able to change the password to create a personal account.
  3. Find the game you want to attend and reserve the ticket.
  4. And you’re all set!

Can’t use your ticket?

If you reserved a ticket and can’t attend the game, make sure to cancel the ticket. Log in to the portal, click the cancellation tab on the left-hand side, find the game, and cancel.

If you reserved a ticket and can’t attend the game, make sure to cancel it. If you fail to do so 3 times, then you won’t be able to attend any games for the rest of the season.

Need to know for games

Basketball games are in Thompson Boling Arena. Seats are general admissions so come early with your friends to get the best seats.

Instead of a hard-copy ticket, the system activates your VolCard for access to the game. If you have not activated your VolCard for a game, you will not be allowed entry into the game.

Make sure to bring your VolCard in order to be scanned in at the student gate. Don’t be late, you can enter the game until halftime.

Student tickets are not transferable and there are no loyalty points or guest tickets for basketball games. Sad, I know!

Bags that are allowed into games are clear plastic bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, one-gallon clear resealable plastic storage bag, and a small clutch purse no bigger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

So, come on out to a game and support your favorite basketball team. And remember, it’s free! Check out our twitter (@UTKStudentLife) to stay updated with Big Orange Tix.
