Interacting with Student Health & Counseling

With the transition to online classes this semester, the Student Health Center and Student Counseling Center will be shifting the way in which they serve you.

Student Health Center

Previously Scheduled Appointments Will Be Canceled
All appointments previously scheduled for the remainder of the spring semester, including specialty appointments, will be canceled. Patients needing to reschedule a canceled appointment must call the Telephone Triage Nurse 865-974-5080.

Rescheduled Appointments
All individuals upon entry to the Health Center will be subject to a temperature check. Drop-in evaluations/appointments and online appointment scheduling will no longer be available.

Students coming to the Student Health Center may park in the Stokely parking garage, in Student Parking areas only, without a permit during this time. Once the patient has arrived for their appointment, they will be separated into a well or sick area. Sick patients will be seen in the Acute Care Clinic (Suite 107) and well patients will be seen in the Sports Medicine Suite (Suite 131).

Telemedicine
The Student Health Center is currently working with vendors to quickly institute a
Telehealth option. More information to be made available as soon as possible.

Insurance and Payments
Students with the Student Health Insurance Plan – United Healthcare Student Resources can utilize their Telehealth option for accessing care with no fees for those services.

Many other private health insurers offer this option at low or no cost as well. If you have private health insurance, contact your health insurer customer services number on the back of your card for additional information. If you do not have private health insurance, you may still use this service, however, charges will apply.
