I am pleased to announce that the Student Life senior leadership team has been restructured as we strive to continue to meet the needs of our Volunteer community. These changes represent an exciting step for the Division of Student Life as we better position our talented team to achieve our division’s mission, vision, and values.
First, please join me in congratulating Dr. Shea Kidd Houze as she assumes her new role as Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Life and Dean of Students.
Additionally, several temporary reporting lines will now be permanent. RecSports will permanently report to Dr. Jill Zambito, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life and the Student Union will permanently report to Mark Alexander, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life.
Finally, please join me in welcoming Chandra Myrick to the senior leadership team. She will assume the role of Assistant Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of University Housing.
These leadership changes are effective September 1, 2020.

Areas of responsibility:Provides oversight and management for the Center for Health Education & Wellness, Student Disability Services, Student Conduct & Community Standards, Student Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and RecSports.
Mark Alexander, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life
Areas of responsibility: Provides oversight and management for Student Life Technology Services, Budget and Finance, Emergency Preparedness, Facilities Planning, HR/Personnel, and the Student Union.
Chandra Myrick, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life & Executive Director for University Housing
Areas of responsibility: Provides oversight and management for the Office of Assessment & Strategic Initiatives, Student Life Communications, and University Housing.
Our team has demonstrated incredible flexibility and leadership over the past few months as we’ve prepared for an in-person campus experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am proud of the creative solutions that Student Life has pursued as we continue to educate, engage, and support our students.
