After a long, cold, and dreary winter, things are finally starting to turn around! The weather is warming up, the grass is getting greener, and that can only mean one thing. You guessed it: spring is right around the corner and it’s time to celebrate! And Spring Week is here to help you do that.
Spring Week will be March 15-19 and will host both virtual and in-person events all week to help you ring in the newest season. From Speed Friending and Bingo to TikTok craft fair and Vol Night Long, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So, grab your friends (and maybe make a few new ones) and head over!

Monday, March 15
Do you find yourself saving craft TikToks hoping to one day make the crafts? Well, this is your chance! Stop by the TikTok Craft Fair to pick up crafts you can make that have been featured on TikTok! Examples include painted vases, embroidery, self-watering herbs, and so much more!
Tuesday, March 16
Sarah Thomas will be IN-PERSON and on Zoom on March 16th at 7 p.m. (EST) in the SU Auditorium. Sarah Thomas changed the game in the world’s most quintessential male-dominated sport, football when she became the first female NFL official. Now she’s inspiring others to dream big and believe anything is possible! Registration is required on the Vol Life App for in-person attendance but if you want to attend the zoom option, you will not have to register. Live stream viewing is available at tiny.utk.edu/SarahThomas. If you dress up in sportswear, you have a chance of winning some neat prizes (UT gear)!

National Awkward Moments Day, All Day on Social Media
We have all had our awkward moments from time to time. Have you ever called someone by the wrong name, tripped over nothing, walked into a door, or had the completely wrong words come out of your mouth? This monthly hour-long panel via Zoom will be themed around a particular social issue and take a deep dive into the issue in Knoxville by learning about community partners in our backyard. Learn more about some of the amazing work that our Knoxville Community Partners are doing, and how you can get involved with them!
Join the Office of Multicultural Student Life, in collaboration with the Black Cultural Programming Committee, for our Annual Legends Lecture. This event seeks to highlight an African American who has made major contributions to the Black community through media, art, sports, and other forms of culture.
Loretta Devine, with a career spanning three decades, has earned much praise and accolades for her work on both the big and small screen. For her work as “Adele” on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Devine earned both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, a Gracie Allen Award for “Outstanding Female Actor in a Featured Role,” a nomination for “Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series” from the Critics’ Choice Television Awards and an NAACP Image Award and an NAACP Image Award nomination.
