Thanks to a partnership with LG, every student’s least favorite task, doing their laundry, can now be a time to look forward to. When residents of Fred Brown Hall returned for the spring semester, they were met with a transformed “Laundry Lounge,” including state-of-the-art equipment and space to relax while they wait for their laundry to be done.
In one section of the room, students can utilize the LG gaming wall, equipped with an Xbox system for students to play video games on. The Laundry Lounge also has several comfortable seating options for students to use for studying or spending time with friends. The space creates an environment that turns a daunting task into a time to unwind or stay on top of class work.

For students who don’t have time to wait on their laundry, they can utilize a smartphone app that connects to the washer or dryer they are using, allowing them to monitor how much time their laundry load has left, and are notified when it is done.

LG Electronics, USA’s partnership in this pilot program highlights their presence and investment in the state of Tennessee through their laundry factory operations.
