Attendance policy for basketball games
If you claim a ticket, please attend the game or return your ticket so another student can use it.
Claim & Don’t Scan Penalty
If you claim a basketball ticket, we expect you to attend or return your ticket so another student has the opportunity to use it. If you claim a ticket but do not use it:
- 1st Occurrence: Warning
- 2nd Occurrence: Lose 1 T-Credit
- After losing a T-Credit, the process resets and your next occurrence will result in a warning.
For graduating seniors, a second claim-and-no-scan occurrence will result in losing access to claim a ticket for the next eligible game.
Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball are tracked separately. Exhibition games do not count toward this policy.
How to return a student basketball ticket
Plans change. If you can no longer attend, simply return your ticket through the Tennessee Athletics app.
- Go to your game ticket on the Tickets tab and select “More Ticket Actions”.
- Then, select the “Return” option and follow the prompts to successfully return your ticket.
- Make sure to select the “Submit” button on the review page to complete the return.
New this season:
Students may now return their claimed ticket up to 24 hours before tip-off.
Returning your student ticket helps someone else attend the game and prevents claim-and-no-scan penalties.
