Claim Basketball Tickets

Student tickets for Vol Hoops and Lady Vol Hoops are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When do ticket claim windows open?

Every Monday at 7:30 a.m., student ticket claims will open for upcoming home games.

  • If a game is on a weekday (Monday–Friday), claims will open the previous Monday.
  • If a game is over the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), claims will open that Monday.

You will always have a minimum of 5 days to claim a ticket. Tickets remain available until inventory is gone or the game reaches halftime.

How to claim basketball tickets

If you haven’t already, download the official Tennessee Athletics app. All Tennessee Athletics student tickets will only be made available through the app.

If you are opening the Tennessee Athletics app for the first time, complete the registration steps. When asked “What type of fan are you?” make sure to select “UT Student.”Mobile phone screen demonstrating the locations to click to request basketball tickets.

  1. Once on the app home screen, select “More” in the lower right corner and scroll down to select “Rocky Top Rowdies.” You will then see a dropdown and select “Student Basketball Tickets.”
  2. You will see a list of Vol or Lady Vol Basketball games. Select the game you would like to attend and select the “Get Ticket” button.
  3. For student ticket quantity, select 1. Select “Add to Cart” and then tap “Continue.” Reminder: Student basketball tickets are free.
  4. Fill out all the ticket buyer info and billing address using your student email address ([email protected]). Then, select “Confirm.” Reminder: Student basketball tickets are free.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with your ticket. Access your ticket and it will appear in your Tennessee Athletics app.

Ticket attendance policy

If you claim a ticket, please attend the game or return your ticket so another student can use it.

Claim & Don’t Scan Penalty

If you claim a basketball ticket, we expect you to attend or return your ticket so another student has the opportunity to use it. If you claim a ticket but do not use it:

  • 1st Occurrence: Warning
  • 2nd Occurrence: Lose 1 T-Credit
  • After losing a T-Credit, the process resets and your next occurrence will result in a warning.

For graduating seniors, a second claim-and-no-scan occurrence will result in losing access to claim a ticket for the next eligible game.
Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball are tracked separately. Exhibition games do not count toward this policy.

How to return a student basketball ticket

Plans change. If you can no longer attend, simply return your ticket through the Tennessee Athletics app.

  1. Go to your game ticket on the Tickets tab and select “More Ticket Actions”.
  2. Then, select the “Return” option and follow the prompts to successfully return your ticket.
  3. Make sure to select the “Submit” button on the review page to complete the return.

New this season:
Students may now return their claimed ticket up to 24 hours before tip-off.

Returning your student ticket helps someone else attend the game and prevents claim-and-no-scan penalties.
