Welcome to Your Campus Living Room

Home to several different Student Life offices, dining options, and study spaces the Student Union serves as the campus living room for you! The Union is 395,088 square feet of orange pride, Volunteer spirit, and is ready to be a place for you to explore.

Dining

There are plenty of dining options available to you in the Student Union. From Starbucks and Steak n’ Shake to Subway and Rising Roll, there’s a little something for everyone when it comes to dining.

Vol Dining
Facilities Services install COVID signage stickers on the groundIn order to maintain social distance and keep all Vols safe this semester, will have some protective measures in place to make the experience convenient, enjoyable, and safe. Signage, floor markers, and physical barriers will be used to maintain social distancing, and seating for in-person dining will be available but limited to ensure social distancing. You can also use the GET Food app to order food in advance and pick up your meal!

Open Seating Areas

Looking for a new study stop? While some furniture has been removed from the Student Union to encourage social distancing, there are plenty of open seating options that will be available to you once classes start! From worktables to couches and chairs, you’re bound to find your new favorite study spot in the Student Union. To ensure proper social distancing and to keep everyone healthy, please keep at least six feet apart and students working together will be asked to wear masks at all times.

Resources

Interior of the new Student UnionThere are 11 different offices, centers, and resources now found in the Student Union, including the Office of the Dean of Students, Center for Student Engagement, Sorority & Fraternity Life, Jones Center for Leadership and Service, SGA, Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration, Visitors Center, VolShop, VolTech, UCopy, Central Ticket Office, Union Station, information desk, and much more. To say that the Student Union is a one-stop-shop is an understatement!

Room Reservations

You are still able to make some room reservations for events by using Ad Astra. It’s important to keep in mind that many of the large space in the Student Union will be used for classes during the week. There will be plenty of availability from 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays!
