It’s football time in Tennessee and we hope you’re so excited to pack Neyland with your friends! Attending your first college football game as a student can be exciting and thrilling. There is everything from making a ticket-request group to the actual day of the game when you are wondering what time to be there and how to get into the stadium. Here are a few tips to get you ready.
Get Your (Big Orange) Ticket
UT students can purchase discounted tickets for football games through Big Orange Tix! Big Orange Tix is your official ticket source for all things Tennessee Football. Home student football tickets are discounted and sold at $10 per ticket.
Students can request tickets starting 10 days before game day during the request period. Once the request period ends, a selection/seat assignment lottery, based on loyalty points, is run to identify the students and groups that will have the opportunity to purchase tickets during two different claim periods. There is no advantage to being the first student to request a ticket, nor is there a disadvantage to being the last student to request a ticket.
Students wishing to sit with other students must identify a group leader and request to be seated with the group leader during the request period. Learn more about Big Orange Tix.
It’s simple to use! To request a ticket, just follow these steps:
- First, go to the ticket portal site.
- Log in with your NetID and password on UT’s Central Authentication Service page, and then complete your two-factor authentication (2FA) login.
- Find the game you want to attend and request the ticket.
- And you’re all set!
Items You Need to Enter Neyland
To be able to get through the gates and into the game you will need your VolCard and ticket ready to be scanned. Most students will screenshot their ticket and have it on their phone but in the instance that your phone dies or you cannot pull the ticket up, you will not be able to get into the game. We recommend printing an extra copy of your ticket just in case.
The student gates for access are Gates 4, 4A, and 5.
Drink Water and Wear Sunscreen
Most of Neyland will be in the sun for most football games. Be sure to wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water before heading to the stadium. The last thing you want is to be sunburnt and dehydrated by halftime!
Be Responsible
We know how fun it is to attend tailgates while celebrating the Vols before the big game, but we want to be sure everyone is responsible and safe. If you are 21 and over and choose to drink alcohol at the game, make sure you stay hydrated, identify a designated driver, and if you see someone in distress, text VOLS to 69050. Make sure you have reviewed the alcohol, clear bag, and containers policies for Neyland Stadium, to be sure you have a fun and safe game day! As always, Go Vols!
