Get Involved this Spring

With the start of a new semester, you may be looking to get more involved and engaged with campus. This semester you can count on countless opportunities to take your leadership skills to a new level and below are just a few places you can start looking.  

Volunteering 

Serving our community and others is at the heart of who we are as Volunteers. Volunteering can make lasting impacts and there are never shortages of opportunities to serve.  

MLK Jr. Days of Service
MLK Jr. Days of Service will be from January 30 to February 10 at several different locations around Knoxville. This series embodies the importance of living out the legacy of Dr. King by volunteering and supporting our community. 

VOLbreaks
Signups for the spring VOLbreaks trips will be open from February 6–12. Taking place over spring break, March 11–18, this year’s VOLbreaks focus areas will include community development and sustainability. 

ServeUTK
The ServeUTK shows you the service opportunities that are available to you throughout the semester and are provided on a weekly and monthly basis. Some opportunities include working with the Big Orange Pantry, Knox County Schools, and Dogwood Arts.Taking on new leadership roles in college can help you grow as a student and boost your resume! Whether you want to get more involved in student government, a student organization, or with a specific.

Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) exists to provide the student body with a means to deal with the affairs of students and as a forum for the expression of student views concerning student life within the university. SGA is currently accepting applications for membership for the various councils and branches.

a helpful list of different ways for you to get involved on campus! From joining clubs or organizations to attending campus events, there’s no shortage of opportunities to make the most of your time here!  

T-FLEX: Explore RecSports
T-FLEX, a new program from RecSports, is a program to explore what RecSports has to offer while maximizing your wellness potential. By completing three FLEXes, you can earn a RecSports hoodie! T-FLEX begins and all FLEXes must be completed by March 15.
