We are hiring!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Office of the Dean of Students is committed to doing whatever it takes to support the individual success and well-being of each student. When a student does not know where to start or where to go – they can start with us. We help point them in the right direction, be a sounding board, and help them deal with any issues that might arise – academic, financial, or even social or personal. We want to help, and we are looking for students who want to maximize their professional experience while serving the University of Tennessee campus community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dean’s team is comprised of passionate and student-centered colleagues, who believe that mattering and belonging are essential to the Volunteer Experience. The Dean of Students Fellow plays an integral part in how we operationalize this focus through inclusion, advocacy, and support.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a DOS Fellow, you will:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Assist Dean’s team in project management and program development.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Greet visitors and callers professionally and offer a hospitable environment.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Be the first contact when a visitor enters the suite to gain information about their needs.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and callers by having the initiative to research and problem-solve.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Commitment to confidentiality, sensitive information, and FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act).<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Represent the DOS at student functions and events in a professional manner.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ability to maintain a level of confidence and patience in uncomfortable and stressful situations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Willingness to become certified to drive a golf cart on campus.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Exercise initiative, good judgment, and discretion.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Enthusiasm for a team-oriented philosophy when advancing the strategic goals of the Dean of Students.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assist all colleagues with support as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    To apply, you must be a current University of Tennessee, Knoxville student with a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5. Fellows will be paid $11\/hour.<\/h5>\n
