Family Weekend Welcome & Check-In

Check-in for Family Weekend begins on Friday morning. You can pick up your Family Weekend registration materials, favors, and tickets. To pick up Family Weekend materials, we ask that you bring a copy of your event registration receipt(s). Please save a copy of these receipts after you have finished registering for the event. We can accept electronic receipts.
We encourage you to have your student pick up your swag and materials during the early check-in period if you are unable to pick them up on Friday, September 19. Additional information will be shared in September.
Slap the Rock with SGA

Join the Student Government Association in participating in one of UT’s traditions: painting the rock! Stop by the Rock to leave your mark, grab a snack, and celebrate Big Orange Friday.
Off-Campus Housing Expo

Is your student looking for a new place to live off campus? Join the Division of Student Life for the Off-Campus Housing Expo on Pedestrian Walkway! Off-campus properties will be available to answer your questions and help your student explore off-campus housing opportunities in the Knoxville community. Looking for roommates? Fall Family Fair

Join the Center for Student Engagement for a night of fun and entertainment to celebrate the Volunteer spirit among family members in town for the Fall Family Weekend. This event will provide free food, crafts, games, and fun for the whole family!

Set in late 18th century England, this modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel follows the Dashwood sisters — reserved Elinor and expressive Marianne — after their father’s sudden death leaves them without money and socially vulnerable. Gossipy, humorous, and filled with emotional depth, this witty play adapted by Kate Hamill is a funny and thoughtful examination of the sacrifices and consequences born from societal pressures, and what can happen when you choose to ignore them.

Tennessee Family Tailgate & Beer Garden

Start your Vols game day with a delicious tailgate in the Student Union. We’ll have food, fun, and games for families and students to enjoy. Wristbands required for entry; guests participating in the Beer Garden must be 21 or older.
Wristbands are not included in Fall Family Weekend registration. Tickets can be purchased during the registration process.
Volunteer Village

Make sure you visit Vol Village presented by Toyota before football games this year for a whole new fan experience. It’s FREE for all fans with or without a game ticket. There will be live music, activities for everyone of all ages, food trucks, and more. You won’t want to miss out on stopping by a reimagined, Vol Village, located in a great spot to see the Vol Walk and the Band March just across from Circle Park.
The Vol Walk

The Vol Walk — the football team’s walk to Neyland Stadium — begins two hours and fifteen minutes before kickoff at the Torchbearer statue in Circle Park on Volunteer Drive. It continues down Peyton Manning Pass before turning left on Phillip Fulmer Way and into the stadium through Gate 21-A.
Band March
To be Announced
The Pride of the Southland Band makes its way the stadium beginning one hour and forty minutes before kickoff.
The band marches up Volunteer Boulevard past Peyton Manning Pass and crosses the new Pedestrian Bridge before turning onto Middle Drive and then onto Phillip Fulmer Way, stopping to “Salute the Hill” before marching into the stadium through Gate 21-A. Click here for the Band March route.
Vol Football vs. UAB Blazers
12:45 p.m. Kick Off | Neyland Stadium
Join more than 100,000 Big Orange fans in cheering the Vols on to victory inside Neyland Stadium!
Please note that Neyland Stadium has a clear bag policy. All items are subject to search at the gates upon entering the stadium. Fans are allowed to bring the following items into the stadium: cushions/seats without arms, small cameras, pagers, cell phones, and binoculars. Bottles, cans, large cameras, coolers, and stadium chairs with arms are prohibited in Neyland Stadium. All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to gain admission into Neyland Stadium.
Football tickets are not included in Fall Family Weekend registration. Tickets can be purchased separately after completing the registration.

Brunch with your Vol

See what it’s like to eat like a Vol with your student. Use this time to connect and visit with other families as we conclude a great Family Weekend!
UT students who have a meal plan may use a meal swipe to enter the brunch and can use their guest meals to cover their family members and guests. Students who don’t have a meal plan may use their Flex Plan or Credit/Debit Card and pay at the door. Family members and guests who cannot utilize their student’s guest meals can purchase their meal ticket for brunch ahead of time.
