Resources for Student Questions & Concerns<\/h1><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Students who have questions or concerns about any aspect of academic course work or campus life are encouraged to seek clarification and prompt assistance through appropriate UT channels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Academic Coursework & Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate students who need help navigating curriculum, degree requirements, and campus resources can contact your assigned advisors in the respective College Advising Center<\/a>. Because the advisor-advisee relationship is active throughout the college experience, concerns related to academic advising should be addressed first with your assigned advisor, then the director of the appropriate advising center, and finally the dean of the college. Assigned advisors are listed in myUTK and Vol Connect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questions or concerns related to grades or academic coursework should first be addressed to the course instructor.\u00a0Undergraduate\u00a0grade appeals follow a defined four-step process: (1) Consultation with the instructor, (2) Appeal to the department office, (3) Appeal to the college office, and (4) Appeal to the Undergraduate Council. End-of-term appeals based solely on grade calculation errors conclude at step (2).\u00a0When\u00a0graduate students are\u00a0unable\u00a0to resolve\u00a0concerns with\u00a0their instructor, the concern\u00a0should be advanced\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0appropriate department\u00a0head, and finally the dean of the college in which the course is offered\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate students who need help understanding\u00a0academic\u00a0policies\u00a0such as grade appeals or academic standing\u00a0can\u00a0contact\u00a0academic\u00a0coaches in the Academic Success Center<\/a> for assistance. Graduate students\u00a0should\u00a0reach\u00a0out to\u00a0the\u00a0Graduate School<\/a>\u00a0for graduate students for support regarding the best process for resolution. Concerns related to academic advising should be addressed first with your assigned academic advisor, then the director of the\u00a0appropriate advising\u00a0center, and finally the dean of the appropriate college.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campus Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All questions or concerns related to campus life or student organizations should be directed to the\u00a0Division of Student Life<\/a>. Staff in this office will provide information, assist in resolving a problem, or identify the appropriate channel\u00a0of appeal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
