Move-In Dates
January 17, 2025, at 8 a.m.
Residence Halls open for spring 2025. You may move in any time after the halls open. You don’t need to make an appointment. Front desks are staffed 24 hours a day.
Prepare for Move-In
This to-do list will help on-campus students get ready to move into residence halls. Making sure these items are complete will help ensure a smooth move-in process!
What to Bring
Rocky Top will be your home for the next academic year. Make sure to bring these essentials to make your room feel like home sweet home.
Move-in Day
When you arrive on campus, you may unload in the designated unloading zones outside of your hall. Please unload efficiently and relocated your vehicle once you have finished unloading. After unloading, you may park in any legal parking space.
Carts are available to borrow from the front desk of your residence hall. Move-in assistance is not provided.
NOTE: Starting January 21, you must be parked in your designated permit lot or paid visitor space only. Citations will be issued starting on the first day of classes.
Checking In
Follow directional signs to the residence halls check-in area or front desk where University Housing Staff members will assist you through the check-in process. During check-in you will be issued a key or access to your room assignment, receive your mailbox code, and any additional information. Residents will need their VolCard (student ID) to officially check-in. Only the resident can be checked into their assigned space; family members and roommates cannot check into a room and receive access on behalf of a student.
