Campus Safety

The safety of our Volunteer community is a priority, and there are several resources on Rocky Top that help keep us safe.

The UT Police Department serves the Volunteer community with fully-commissioned officers to help keep our community safe. Every day, officers patrol campus, check in with residence halls, and offer educational programming to ensure safety on campus and in the surrounding area.

Our free UT Alert emergency messaging service enhances and improves communication to keep students, faculty, and staff informed during an emergency on our campus.  We also offer the LiveSafe Campus Safety App, providing students, staff, and faculty a mobile solution to increase safety on campus.

Keeping our campus safe includes protecting our campus from cyber-attacks.  Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) boosts protection of your account from hackers, providing two layers of protection.
