African Student Association

Registered student organizations operate independently of the University of Tennessee, with some receiving guidance and support from university departments. The university encourages student organizations to promote civil and social awareness, but it does not endorse their activities or viewpoints. To view a full list of registered organizations, visit Volink.

The African Student Association (ASA) is committed to developing unity, strength, and community among African and non-African students. We work to raise awareness about African culture and issues, as well as clarify misconceptions and educate people about Africa. We aim to serve the African diaspora by celebrating and promoting African culture at the institution, in the local community, and beyond, with the purpose of bridging the gap between the African diaspora.
