If you are concerned or worried for a student, observe a behavior that makes you uncomfortable, or you feel like a student may harm themselves or others, 865-974-HELP is where you can call for support. The goal of 865-974-HELP is to provide help and support to all students, enabling them to succeed and thrive while at UT.

Division E-Newsletter

The Division distributes an e-newsletter to internal staff and Graduate Assistants twice per month to share important announcements and to celebrate colleagues. in a central place.

The e-newsletter is distributed on the first and third Monday of each month (unless it is a holiday) and the deadline for submissions will be the preceding Thursday (For reference, the Parents Association newsletter goes out on the first and third Wednesday, with submissions due Friday).

Don’t Cancel Class

Rather than canceling class, faculty can request one of more than 20 available workshops or trainings to be presented during class time.

Staff Engagement and Development Committee

The Division of Student Life Staff Engagement and Development Committee (SEDC) is charged by the vice chancellor for student life with providing professional development, recognition, and social engagement opportunities for staff.

The committee is responsible for planning and executing a variety of developmental programs each semester, including

  • Educational programs related to our work in student life or higher education
  • A social program and team celebratoin with the goal of developing team unity and spirit
  • A community service program with the goal of providing an opportunity to have staff involved with local service
