Most Student Health Center Visits are Covered

Most visits to the Student Health Center (SHC) are covered by the Student Programs and Services Fee (SPSF), which is included with your tuition and fees when you’re enrolled at UT. For details about the SPSF, visit One Stop. This mandatory fee is not an insurance charge.

Some services, such as laboratory tests, X-rays, immunizations, medications, and medical supplies, may have additional charges.

Students are not charged for an office visit with medical or mental health providers. 

What services have associated costs?

• Students are charged for additional services such as (but not limited to):
  • Physical Therapy 
  • Lab Work 
  • X-rays
  • Durable medical goods 
  • Vaccines  
  • Shipping of medications at the end of a semester to student homes 

Note: The Student Health Center does not file private insurance, and students are responsible for the costs of additional services

Cost for Preventative Vaccines

Laboratory Services Fee 

Most routine lab tests performed at the Student Health Center cost less than $33, with some tests available for as little as $5. Examples of laboratory test charges include:

Physical Therapy Fee

Physical therapy visits are $30.

Radiology Services Fee

All radiologic exams are obtained digitally so that our HCPs may immediately review the exam upon completion and provide an initial interpretation. Subsequently, all exams are forwarded to a consulting Radiology group where an official interpretation by a board-certified Radiologist is provided. 

• $30 per body part

• There is no charge to have the x-ray read.
