Workers’ Compensation: On-the-Job Related Injuries & Illness
If you are experiencing a health-related emergency, dial 911.
The Student Health Center is not a worker’s compensation healthcare facility. Employers often cover the medical expenses related to an employee’s work-related injury or illness through a company sponsored or covered worker’s compensation insurance plan. As the Student Health Center does not bill insurance, we do not qualify as an acceptable worker’s compensation healthcare facility. Failure to follow your employer’s procedures for an on-the-job injury or illness may result in denial of coverage for any present and/or future injury- or illness-related expenses.
UT Faculty, staff, or students employed by the university with an On-the-Job Illness or Injury should follow the steps listed by the Office of Risk Management, starting with reporting your injury to your supervisor when it happens.
