This&nbsp;is a mandatory fee for students enrolled in on-campus classes&nbsp;and helps cover the costs associated with student services, activities, and programs organized or&nbsp;operated&nbsp;under the Vice Chancellor for Student Life, including the Student Health Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>UT&nbsp;community members and students who did&nbsp;not&nbsp;pay the SPSF&nbsp;are eligible to take advantage of the&nbsp;Student Health Center Pharmacy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SHC Eligibility Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Semester\/Year<\/th><th>Eligibility Start Date<\/th><th>Eligibility End Date<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>May Mini-Term and Summer 2026<\/td><td>Friday, May 15, 2026<\/td><td>Sunday, August 9, 2026<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Fall 2026<\/td><td>Monday, August 10, 2026<\/td><td>Sunday, January 17, 2027\u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Winter Mini-Term 2027<\/td><td>Monday, January 4, 2027<\/td><td>Friday, January 15, 2027<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Spring 2027<\/td><td>Monday, January 18, 2027<\/td><td>Saturday, May 15, 2027<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull utkwds-accordion-group has-light-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--small);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--small)\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Eligibility Considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion\"><div data-accordion=\"true\" class=\"utk-wds-accordion-wrapper\" data-color-scheme=\"medium\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Distance Education and Online-only Students<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Distance&nbsp;education and&nbsp;online students do not pay&nbsp;the Student Programs&nbsp;and Services Fee. Therefore, these students&nbsp;are not eligible&nbsp;to use the services of the Student Health Center.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Graduate Assistants<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Distant&nbsp;education students who have a paid UT appointment as a graduate assistant or associate <strong>and<\/strong> are insured through the&nbsp;university-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) may pay a:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$75.00 Summer Access Fee to be eligible for services at the Student Health Center during the summer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$75.00 Summer Access Fee to be eligible for services at the Student Counseling Center during the summer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;Fees are center-specific. To be eligible to access services through both the Student Health Center and the Student Counseling Center, both fees must be paid.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Graduating Students<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students graduating in May who are insured through the university-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) may be able to pay Summer Access Fees to continue accessing the Student Health Center and Student Counseling Center services through the summer term. More information about summer access fees will be provided&nbsp;to the student&nbsp;near the end of the academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students graduating in May who&nbsp;<strong>are not<\/strong>&nbsp;insured through the&nbsp;university-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) may be seen through the date of commencement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students graduating in December who&nbsp;<strong>are not<\/strong>&nbsp;insured through the&nbsp;university-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) may be seen through the Sunday of the week prior to the first day of classes in the&nbsp;spring semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Health Science Center Students&nbsp;(UTHSC)<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students enrolled through the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) who are taking classes on the UT Knoxville campus and have paid the&nbsp;Student Programs and Services Fee&nbsp;are eligible for services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Notes<strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All charges incurred are transferred to the UTHSC student&nbsp;bursar account.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The UT Student Health Center&nbsp;does&nbsp;not file claims for UTHSC students.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UTHSC students&nbsp;can request an itemized receipt to file their&nbsp;own&nbsp;claims.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Medical and&nbsp;physician&nbsp;assistant students on rotation in Knoxville&nbsp;are only eligible during the dates of their rotation&nbsp;if they have paid the Student Programs and Services Fee.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>New Incoming Students<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students may access the UT Student Health Center&nbsp;prior to the start of classes&nbsp;to receive required immunizations or testing for immunization compliance. These students:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must provide proof of enrollment for the upcoming semester.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are only able to access services for immunizations and testing&nbsp;required&nbsp;for immunization compliance.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pay for all charges incurred for lab work, immunizations, and\/or&nbsp;tuberculosis&nbsp;testing.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;If the student must see&nbsp;a SHC&nbsp;provider&nbsp;due to&nbsp;an immunization encounter (e.g.&nbsp;abnormal test result or an immunization reaction), an access fee will be assessed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>International Students<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International students who&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are enrolled in the university-sponsored SHIP&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Were&nbsp;enrolled in classes during the spring semester but are not enrolled in classes during the summer semester&nbsp;may be able to pay a summer access fee to be eligible for services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Faculty and Staff<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faculty and staff are expected to pay in full on the day of service; faculty and staff may&nbsp;only&nbsp;be seen for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allergy injections&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel medicine advice&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Immunizations required for employees&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Visiting Scholars<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visiting Scholars:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>May enroll in the university sponsored SHIP by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studenthealthprograms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>www.studenthealthprograms.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must&nbsp;call The Hildreth Agency with any questions at&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:865-691-4652\" id=\"tel:865-691-4652\">865-691-4652<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not pay&nbsp;the Student Programs and Services Fee&nbsp;and are <strong>not<\/strong> eligible&nbsp;to see medical or mental health care providers at the&nbsp;on-campus&nbsp;UT Student Health Center&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must&nbsp;seek&nbsp;medical and mental health care from off campus providers&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not require a referral from the UT Student Health Center&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May have prescriptions&nbsp;filled&nbsp;at the UT Student Health Center Pharmacy&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-utk-wds-accordion-panel\"><h3 class=\"utk-wds-accordion__heading\" data-accordion-heading=\"true\"><div>Dependents of Students<\/div><\/h3><section data-accordion-section=\"true\"><div class=\"utk-wds-accordion__panel-body\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dependents of students are not eligible for UT Student Health Center services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eligibility To be eligible for services at the&nbsp;Student Health Center&nbsp;(SHC), students:&nbsp; UT&nbsp;community members and students who did&nbsp;not&nbsp;pay the SPSF&nbsp;are eligible to take advantage of the&nbsp;Student Health Center Pharmacy.
