Technology Services

Student Life Technology Services works in close partnership with the Office of Information Technology to provide hardware and software support to Student Life departments and staff.

Student Life staff seeking technology support or help should start with OIT. 

Call 865-974-9900 to connect with OIT support over the phone. We’re available by phone 24/7, excluding university holidays and administrative closings.

Visit the Walk-In HelpDesk in the Commons at Hodges Library for face-to-face IT support (see Walk-In HelpDesk hours).

If your inquiry requires additional support from the Student Life Technology Team, OIT staff will route it to the appropriate staff member for you!

Technology hardware purchases, including computers, mobile devices, and printers, should always be made in partnership with the Technology Team to ensure that the purchase meets security and purchasing requirements.

In many cases, hardware purchases may qualify under the Computer Upgrade Program, which is a centrally funded program designed to upgrade the computer equipment for faculty and staff once every four years. The Technology Team partners with department heads and OIT to maximize this program for all staff.

All software purchases and renewals should be made in partnership with the Technology team to ensure the software meets purchasing requirements, security and data management guidelines, branding guidelines, and ADA requirements.
