Volapalooza Returns to UT, Presents Wiz Khalifa

After a two-year hiatus, the much-anticipated Volapalooza music event is returning to campus with a new twist. This year, Volapalooza will welcome Wiz Khalifa to Thompson Boling Arena on May 6. This concert will be held in partnership with the Center for Student Engagement and Thompson-Boling Arena.

“I’m so excited for Volapolooza to come back this year,” said junior Emma Nair, Entertainment Executive Chair of Campus Events Board. “As a freshman, I never got to experience Volapolooza because of the pandemic. This tradition is something that I’ve been looking forward to for the past two years. Volapolooza coming back in 2022 is so exciting because it will round out the Volunteer experience for the class of 2022 and bring back a tradition for underclassmen to make their own. I’m so grateful we get to gather again for a night of fun, celebration, and music to round out the school year.”

Ticket Information

Tickets for current students will be $5 for the general admission student section and will be sold through the Thompson-Boling Arena ticketing system starting soon. Be on the lookout for an announcement regarding when student tickets will be on sale!

Students who buy tickets will receive their tickets on May 5, 24 hours before the concert begins.

Volapalooza Party in the Park

Whether you’re going to the main event on Friday night or not, be sure to join the Center for Student Engagement and Campus Events Board for a Party in Circle Park where all students are welcome to enjoy music, food, and activities to get you ready for Wiz Khalifa!

What is Volapalooza?

Established in 2003 as a small end-of-year concert, Volapalooza has grown into one of the largest events on campus and an annual tradition that reaches out to both the UT and Knoxville communities.

Held at the end of the spring semester, Volapalooza celebrates the end of a successful year at UT while providing students with a means to unwind before diving into finals week.

Volapalooza strives to create a concert lineup that targets a broad demographic by showcasing various musical genres. This event features a variety of popular music acts as well as local and national vendors. Past performers have included Fitz and the Tantrums, Tyga, Ziggy Marley, Big Gigantic, Three 6 Mafia, Girl Talk, Flogging Molly, Passion Pit, CAKE, and many more.
