Vol Family Reunions

Vol Family Reunions are an opportunity for Volunteer families to return to Rocky Top and reconnect with their student, the university community, and the spirit of Big Orange Country. Each reunion weekend invites families to experience life on campus, explore Knoxville, and engage with the people and places that make the Volunteer experience unique.

Vol Family Reunions celebrate the partnership between families and the university in supporting student success and belonging. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip to Rocky Top, these weekends are designed to foster connection, pride, and discovery for the entire Volunteer family.

Join us on Rocky Top on Saturday, February 28 for the spring Vol Family Reunion.

Registration

Registration for the spring Vol Family Reunion will open December 9 at 1:30 p.m. Detailed information regarding registration instructions will be shared via email to all active members of the Tennessee Family Association prior to registration opening.

Registration will end on Friday, January 30 at 5:00 p.m. EST unless capacity is reached prior to this date.

Vol Family Reunion Registration

General Admission: $40 per person (including students)
General Admission includes the dining voucher, a merch voucher for the T-Shirt Bus, and access to the events and activities. Each family will receive a clear swag bag with Proud Vol Family swag.

Note: Families are welcomed to register up to 8 attendees (including students).

Men’s Basketball Tickets: UT vs. Alabama
The Vol Family Reunion block of tickets are $103 per person, not including taxes & fees, and seats are located in the upper level. Families who register for Vol Family Reunion will receive a confirmation message containing a link to purchase basketball tickets. Families purchasing basketball tickets will need to create a new account or log into their existing allvols.com account. All basketball tickets purchased as a part of Vol Family Reunion registration will be distributed electronically. Physical basketball tickets will not be available for pick-up during the Vol Family Reunion.

Lady Vols Basketball Tickets: UT vs. Vanderbilt
The Vol Family Reunion block of tickets are $23 per person, not including taxes & fees. Families who register for the Vol Family Reunion will receive a confirmation message containing a link to purchase basketball tickets. Families purchasing basketball tickets will need to create a new account or log into their existing allvols.com account. All basketball tickets purchased as a part of Vol Family Reunion registration will be distributed electronically. Physical basketball tickets will not be available for pick-up during the Vol Family Reunion.

Student Seating
Students can attend the game at no charge to be seated in the student section of Thompson-Boling Arena. If you prefer to have your student sit with you at the game, please purchase them a ticket in the Vol Family Reunion section.

Refund Requests
Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, Family Experience is unable to offer full refunds to any Vol Family Reunion registrant at any time. If you need to modify or cancel your registration, please contact us at family@utk.edu. The deadline for modifications and cancellations is Friday, January 30 at 5 p.m. ET.

Take a swing and enjoy an evening of friendly competition at Topgolf Knoxville! Whether you’re an experienced golfer or trying it for the first time, this interactive experience is designed for all skill levels.

Enjoy reserved bays for our group, unlimited gameplay during the event, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for having fun and connecting with fellow attendees. Food and beverages are included. Don’t miss your chance to join us for a lively night at one of Knoxville’s favorite spots!

Vol Family Reunion Check-in

Pick up your Vol Family Reunion registration materials and favors. In order to pick up your materials, you must bring your photo ID or event receipt(s). Please save a copy of your receipts after you have finished registering for the event. We can accept electronic receipts.

Coffee & Crafts

Get creative at our Coffee & Crafts event in the Medbery Makerspace! Make your own buttons, melty bead designs, and friendship bracelets while enjoying a relaxed, hands-on afternoon. Adrift Coffee Cart will be on site, and drinks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All supplies are provided. Just bring your creativity!

Paddles Up! Open Play Pickleball

Ready for some friendly competition? Grab a paddle and join us for a morning of pickleball fun! This fast-paced, easy-to-learn game is perfect for players of all experience levels. Challenge your family, meet new friends, and enjoy some light-hearted rivalry as you serve, volley, and score your way to victory.

Equipment will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis, so just bring your energy and enthusiasm!

Stop by select campus dining locations and grab a bite to eat before heading to the Arena. Dining vouchers are included in the registration. Available campus dining locations will be announced closer to date.

Bring your A-game and join us for an afternoon of family-friendly fun on the vibrant mini-golf course in Hodges Library. Whether you’re a putting pro or just getting started, this event promises an unforgettable blend of competition and camaraderie.

Ice Cream Social with Sugar Queen Creamery

Music Bingo and Trivia with Knox Trivia Guys

Join us for an afternoon of music bingo and trivia, both hosted by the Knox Trivia Guys. Enjoy a mix of popular hits, throwbacks, and crowd favorites as you listen for the right songs to mark on your bingo card. Then switch gears for a round of trivia covering a variety of fun topics and challenges.
UT prizes will be awarded to winners in both games. Come ready to play and enjoy a fun afternoon on campus!

Men’s Basketball vs Alabama

Basketball tickets are not included in Vol Family Reunion registration. Tickets can be purchased separately after completing the registration.

Please note that Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center has a clear bag policy. All items are subject to search at the gates upon entering the stadium. Fans are allowed to bring the following items into the stadium: cushions/seats without arms, small cameras, pagers, cell phones, and binoculars. Bottles, cans, large cameras, coolers, and stadium chairs with arms are prohibited in Thompson-Boling Arena. All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket in order to gain admission into Thompson-Boling Arena.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following is a list of questions we are most frequently asked about Vol Family Reunions, as well as responses to those questions. If you can not find the answer to your question, please contact us at family@utk.edu.

Registration

Registration for the spring Vol Family Reunion will open on December 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. All active members of the Tennessee Family Association will receive registration information via their email.

Families with active membership in the Tennessee Family Association can register for Vol Family Reunions. If you are not a member of the Association, you can join for free by visiting the Tennessee Family Hub.

Families are able to register to up to eight attendees (including students).

The registration fees include a meal voucher and merch voucher for each guest and a game day tote for the family filled with Volunteer Family swag. Additionally, registration fees cover the cost of guest parking passes, printed materials, refreshments at various events, and decor.

Some events and activities may require an additional cost or registration process. This will be noted on the registration and Schedule of Events.

While we hope your student will attend Vol Family Reunion events with you, they aren’t automatically included in your registration. You will need to register each individual member attending Vol Family Reunion, including your student.

Unfortunately, we are not able to take registrations over the phone. You may register online using the Tennessee Family Hub.

No, we do not provide an opportunity for onsite registration.

No, we are unable to provide a waitlist for closed events. It is possible that passes/tickets to “sold out” events will become available if current registrants make changes to or cancel their registrations. When this occurs, their tickets are released and become available online.

No, unfortunately, we don’t allow registrations to be transferred to another Volunteer family. If you need to cancel or modify your registration, please email us at family@utk.edu.

The Family Experience Team will send a comprehensive email including the finalized schedule, parking information and check-in instructions one week prior to spring Vol Family Reunion.

Basketball Tickets

No, basketball tickets are not included in your registration. However, the Family Experience team works with Tennessee Athletics to provide an opportunity to purchase basketball tickets if you and your family would like to attend the game.

After you have completed your Vol Family Reunion registration, you will be prompted to purchase your basketball tickets on the UT Athletics Ticketing website. If you didn’t complete this step, please contact us at family@utk.edu.

No, all seats in the Vol Family Reunion section are reserved for families who are registered for the event.

No, you are not required to purchase tickets to the game. There are plenty of things to do in Knoxville on a Saturday! If you are not attending the game, check out some other activities and events in the Knoxville area.

Unfortunately, we aren’t able to provide log-in assistance for the UT Athletics ticketing site. You will need to contact them directly via the LiveChat feature or by phone at (865) 656-1200.

No. All basketball tickets purchased as a part of a Vol Family Reunion registration will be distributed electronically. Mobile tickets will be accessed electronically through your account at allvols.com. We recommend adding your tickets to your mobile device before game day and you can visit utsports.com for more info regarding mobile ticketing.

Events and Accommodations

Check-in will take place on Saturday, February 28 from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

We will not offer an opportunity for late check in. We encourage you to have your student check-in on your behalf if you are unable to pick them up.

Families and guests participating in the spring Vol Family Reunion are able to work with the UT Athletics Ticketing Office to secure accessibility seating inside of the Arena for the game. Accessible parking is available throughout the weekend and will be shared in our communications.

Family Experience is unable to provide mobility chair reservations or guarantee shuttling and other types of mobility assistance for Vol Family Reunions. Events and activities take place in accessible locations on campus, but guests will be responsible for their transportation to the venue.

Vol Family Reunion participation will usually involve significant amounts of walking and traversing campus, especially crowded spaces on game day. These events may not be suitable for all guests.

Families and guests participating in the spring Vol Family Reunion are responsible for their own lodging accommodations for the weekend. Members of the Tennessee Family Association have access to hotel discounts and can access this list in the Tennessee Family Hub.

Parking during the spring Vol Family Reunion is provided on Saturday. All registered family members will receive detailed parking instructions one week prior to the start of the Vol Family Reunion.
