Through educational events, discussions, and resources, students learn to recognize, prevent, and report hazing while fostering a welcoming community built on trust. By engaging in these efforts, individuals are empowered to stand against hazing and create a safer, more supportive environment for all Volunteers.
Earn a T-Credit by completing the online Hazing Prevention Module
Sunday, September 20–Saturday, September 26, 2026
In recognition of National Hazing Prevention Week, take a few minutes to learn how you can help create a safer Volunteer community. Complete UT’s online Hazing Prevention Module to learn how to identify hazing, act on it, and prevent it by building healthy, supportive organizations and communities.
Students who complete the module will receive one T-Credit, which will be added to their account within 48 hours of completion. The link to the module will be posted on Sunday, September 20. The module must be completed by Saturday, September 26 at 11:59 p.m. to earn the credit.

Students will receive a printed passport at their first event. Attendance at each event earns you a stamp. Turn in your passport Friday, September 25 at Let’s Chalk About It. Each stamp will earn you an entry into a prize drawing. Students may also enter the drawing by emailing [email protected] with their name and netID.
Identify It: Get the Scoop on Hazing Prevention

Stop by Ped Walkway to get the scoop on hazing prevention! Learn how to recognize the signs of hazing and what you can do to help keep our Volunteer community safe. Complete a quick activity and enjoy a scoop of ice cream from the UT Creamery while supplies last!
Act On It: What Would Smokey Do?
Tuesday, September 22, 2026 | 1 p.m. | Pedestrian Walkway near the seal
What would Smokey do? Stop by Ped Walkway to learn how you can act on it when you see or suspect hazing. Test your knowledge with real-life scenarios, learn ways to safely step in or speak up, and grab a free dirty soda while supplies last! Because when Vols look out for Vols, we can all help prevent hazing.
Trivia for a Better Tradition

Put your knowledge to the test at Trivia for a Better Tradition! Grab a team and join us for a fun night of trivia, prizes, and friendly competition while exploring how we can create meaningful traditions and strong communities without hazing. Come ready to play, connect, and help build traditions worth keeping!
Prevent It: Grounds for Belonging
Thursday, September 24, 2026 | 9 a.m. | Mary Greer Room in Hodges Library
Strong groups are built on connection, trust, and belonging, not hazing. Stop by Grounds for Belonging to explore ways you can prevent it by building group cohesion through positive, healthy experiences. Share your ideas, pick up some new ones, and enjoy a free coffee while supplies last!
Let’s Chalk About It: Hazing Prevention
Friday, September 25, 2026 | 3 p.m. | Pedestrian Walkway near Haslam College of Business
Close out Hazing Prevention Week by leaving your mark! Gather a team and compete in our Chalk the Walk competition on Ped Walkway in the Haslam section. Create a chalk design that shares a message about hazing prevention, belonging, or building stronger communities without hazing. Bring your creativity and help fill Ped Walkway with messages that show how Vols help Vols!
