We’re excited to welcome you to the University of Tennessee and appreciate your flexibility as we finalize housing assignments for fall 2025. To ensure all students have a place to call home this fall, University Housing is making South Carrick Hall available as temporary housing.

You will receive your housing assignment on Tuesday, July 15. After you receive your assignment, you’ll be able to log in to the University Housing Portal to select a move-in appointment that works best for you. South Carrick is a suite-style hall with a rate of $3,935 per semester.

We understand that you and your family are in the process of making travel and move-in arrangements, and we wanted to share this information with you as soon as possible so you can finalize your plans and select your move-in appointment with confidence.

What to Expect:

Your assignment in South Carrick is temporary. As spaces become available, you will be reassigned to a permanent room in a different suite-style or community-style hall.

Reassignments will be made based on your enrollment confirmation date. You’ll be notified via your UT email once a space opens up.

While we cannot guarantee specific roommate pairings, floor plans, or buildings, we are committed to making your experience as smooth as possible.

Room rates vary across campus, ranging from $3,300 to $5,680 per semester. If your reassignment occurs after you move in, your cost will be adjusted based on the number of days remaining.

More About South Carrick:

While originally planned to be offline this fall, South Carrick remains fully prepared and ready to welcome students. It will be co-ed by suite, meaning you’ll share a room and bathroom with someone of the same gender, while your neighbors may be of any gender.

Roommate Information:

Roommate selections are not available for temporary housing assignments. However, you will be able to view your assigned roommate’s profile and message them once your assignment is made.

Move-In Details:
After your room is assigned on July 15, select your move-in appointment in the University Housing Portal under the Fall 2025 Move-in Appointments tab. When you are reassigned, you may keep your original move-in date.
