Staff

CCR coordinators seek solutions for students dealing with mental health, academic, relationship, financial, and other stressful crises. We empower students to break down barriers, clarify needs, and navigate complex processes to get back on track to reach their goals.

The staff of the Center for Care Resilience works to create a safe and nonjudgmental place for students to be understood and supported. They advocate for students within the community and help students develop agency to self-advocate. The staff also works to:

  • Foster student learning, success, and well-being while meeting the immediate needs of our campus community
  • Hinder violence, suicide, and the effects of substance misuse/abuse and encourage wellness and personal safety
  • Educate faculty and staff on the signs of distress and the process to help students

I love helping students who need support during a crisis and helping students advocate for themselves. I enjoy working with college students because they are incredibly resilient. There is so much beauty and complexity in the human experience and I am honored to be able to walk alongside students who need support.

I love being a support system for students and working to provide accessible care to all students at UT. I strive to be a listening ear for members of the UT community and advocate for those who are in need of resources. College is a time of growth and transformation for students, and I feel honored to get to play a role in some students’ stories. I am continuously inspired by the students I meet at UT and believe that each of them has the ability to make the world a better place.

Kertesha Riley
Care Coordinator

While college is often a time of exploration, learning, and meeting new people, it can also come with unexpected stressors and curveballs. When that happens, it’s hard to see what the next step might be or believe that you’re able to come out of a tough situation. So I like to think that my work is about helping students understand what they are experiencing, and serving as an advocate and guide as they navigate their journey here at UT.

Specialty areas: conversations about identity, engaging wellness and relationship-building as a means of support, navigating academic and career concerns

Clifton Strengths: Input, Connectedness, Empathy, Developer, Relator
