The Pulse Living & Learning Community (LLC) is designed for first-year students admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The Pulse offers a welcoming environment for you in your transition to college life within the College of Nursing and the University of Tennessee. It is designed to foster student engagement with other nursing students, connection with the college’s faculty and staff, and to aid you in gaining a better sense of your role as a student and as a developing nurse.
The Pulse provides you the opportunity to live on a shared floor, take common courses, and participate in exclusive activities and events designed to foster leadership and engagement with other first-year nursing students. As a member of the Pulse LLC you will be enrolled in LLC-specific course sections that coincide with the first-year nursing curriculum. By taking courses together, you will quickly develop strong bonds and have a unique opportunity to form study groups, participate in tutoring sessions, and challenge and support one another throughout the transition from high school to college. Outside of the classroom, events and activities planned for the community help you build the skills and knowledge needed to become a future campus, community, and nursing leader.
Goals of the Pulse LLC are increased engagement with nursing faculty and staff, increased student retention and development of leadership skills, and increased opportunities to forge strong, lasting connections with the College of Nursing.
The Pulse LLC will be located in Geier Hall for 2024-2025. All LLC locations are subject to change.
