About

The University of Tennessee has established the Student Code of Conduct in order to advance the mission of the University and sustain a culture of excellence. This is done by maintaining a safe learning environment and encouraging students to conduct themselves in ways that allow for their personal growth and development as well as others, in the most positive manner possible. Student conduct and community expectations for all students are articulated in the Student Code of Conduct. Beyond the formal policies, there is a strong emphasis on restorative justice, where students are encouraged to learn and grow from their mistakes. This holistic approach addresses the “why” behind a students’ choices and also cultivates a sense of responsibility and belonging among students.
