The Division of Student Life has several key programs that focus our student engagement opportunities. These programs center around health and wellness, mattering and belonging, and campus events.


Big Orange Tix

The Big Orange Tix initiative is a collaboration between Student Life and Athletics to provide discounted student tickets to football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Don’t Cancel Class Initiative

The Don’t Cancel Class program is an initiative out of the Division of Student Life. We seek to be your partner in the education of our students. Faculty and staff are invited to request a selection of over 20 workshops and training that can be presented during class times, meetings, etc.

Dollywood Tickets

Dollywood has partnered with Student Life to offer a special price on Dollywood tickets for students, staff, faculty, and their families. Discounted tickets are available to students, faculty, and staff can be purchased online.

Through this partnership, ticket prices to the theme park are being offered at $45 per ticket, which is half of the price of regular tickets.

JED Initiative

The University of Tennessee is partnering with JED Campus to ensure all students’ mental health and well-being during their time here. With a focus on supporting current mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention efforts, UT and JED Campus have created an action plan and objectives in order to support this initiative.

Student Life Summitt

Launched in 2021, the division’s Student Life Summit is a one-day conference focusing on a different issue in higher education each year. This professional development opportunity consists of a visiting keynote speaker and breakout sessions hosted by staff and graduate students from our division. Colleagues from across campus to attend the summit.

Vol is a Verb

Vol is a Verb is an invitation to a conversation. It is a collective call to action to work together as a campus community to help make our campus a place where everyone belongs. The Volunteer experience should be accessible to everyone. We all have a story to tell, and every one of our stories is important.

Wellness Wednesday

Each Wednesday, experts from the Center for Health Education and Wellness, RecSports, the Student Counseling Center, the Center for Financial Wellness, the Office of the Dean of Students, and the Campus Ministers Council offer unique and engaging opportunities for you to find the balance that you need to be your best at UT.
