Leadership & Engagement

There are more than 500 student organizations to join, countless service and leadership opportunities to explore, and daily events and programs to attend that enhance an unparalleled student experience.

Find Your Community

Student Life provides space for you to find where you belong on campus. Join an academic organization in your major or college or join a social club around a hobby you enjoy. You even have the option to start your own extracurricular activity or registered student organization.

Get Involved and Get Connected to Campus

The Center for Student Engagement and the Office for Campus Culture and Community regularly host events to help you make new friends and learn more about UT and the community. From trivia nights to picnics, craft nights to peer mentoring, there are all types of events and opportunities for you to participate in daily.

Make Your Mark on Rocky Top as a Student Leader

Get involved in a sorority or fraternity executive board. Improve the campus environment by serving in the Student Government Association. Or consider becoming a resident assistant with University Housing.

Being a Volunteer is a Commitment to Service

Vols attend games together, serve the community together, and study together, making UT the best place to live, learn, and experience the very best that Rocky Top has to offer. With the Jones Center for Leadership and Service, you will have your choice of volunteer opportunities such as VOLbreaks alternative breaks or MLK Jr. Days of Service.

At UT, You Can Make an Impact on Your Fellow Vol

When it comes to helping and serving your fellow students, you can become a note taker with Student Disability Services if you want to help your fellow Vols with their classes. You can also look to the peer health educators with the Center for Health Education & Wellness, Vols2Vols, or even become a personal trainer with RecSports.
