Registered student organizations are expected to adhere to the university’s Student Code of Conduct, fostering an environment of respect and ethical behavior within their activities. By engaging in community service, leadership development, and collaborative projects, student organizations help reinforce the values of integrity and accountability. This collective commitment ensures that the campus remains a vibrant, supportive, and principled community for all members.
At the University of Tennessee, registered student organizations (RSOs) report to one of the following: Center for Student Engagement (CSE), RecSports, or the Office of Sorority & Fraternity Life (OSFL). SCCS investigates violations of the Student Code of Conduct, not office-specific policies. Please visit the individual offices’ websites for any office policies or requirements as they relate to student organizations.
Submitting Organizational Sanctions
In an effort to simplify the process of verifying the completion of sanctions, SCCS has developed a form for students and student organizations to submit any necessary documentation.
For more information regarding the student organization conduct process, questions about specific sanctions, and/or requests for an extension or other deviation from the assigned conditions or restrictions in place, please reach out to the SCCS staff member who oversaw the organization’s case or SCCS at studentconduct@utk.edu or 865-974-3171.
