About Football

UT Athletics and the Division of Student Life partner together to bring students great memories that last a lifetime. Football is a very popular sport to attend at UT, and we work hard to ensure that students who want to enjoy that experience have an opportunity during the season to do so.

Overview

  1. Tickets are $20 for eligible students wanting to attend home games. Students must be assessed any part of the Student Programs and Services Fee to be eligible. All full-time on campus students are assessed this fee.
  2. Student tickets are located in sections D-K in Neyland. This area has bench seating. See the map of Neyland Stadium on our Gameday Information page. If you need accessible seating or other accommodations, please fill out a help form.
  3. Eligible students must request tickets during the request window, be assigned in Round 1 or Round 2, and purchase their tickets before the game.
  4. Students can choose to receive push notifications about request windows or ticket round windows opening in the app. Be sure to turn on push notifications for the Tennessee Athletics App to get these reminders.
  5. Once students have been assigned and have purchased their tickets, students will need to take specific steps on gameday to enter the stadium. Arriving at the stadium early is the best way to ensure you do not miss any of the game. Learn more Gameday Information.

NOTE: Students are NOT allowed to transfer or sell their tickets per the Code of Conduct. Students caught buying or selling tickets from other students may be subject to a hold on requesting future tickets, and will be sent to Conduct for review.

Request Period, Round 1, and Round 2

The request period is the time for students to request their ticket to the game, create groups, and request guest tickets.

This period opens at 9 a.m. on the date listed on the Ticket Request Schedule, and runs for two days, till 4 p.m. on the final day listed.

Students must request their tickets during this time to be eligible to be assigned in Round 1 or Round 2.

Students need to create groups during Round 1. If the group is not assigned in Round 1, groups will need to be re-created (if desired) for Round 2. Please follow the same process of designating a group leader and then sharing your group code.

Individual students and groups will be assigned in Round 1 based on their T-Credits. The number of credits a group has is the average of everyone in the group’s T-credits. So, the higher the number of T-Credits, the more likely you or your group is to be assigned during Round 1.

Students will have four days to purchase their tickets if assigned in Round 1. Any students who do not purchase their ticket during Round 1 will forfeit their ticket, and will not be able to purchase a ticket during Round 2.

Round 2 occurs immediately after the Round 1 purchase period closes.

NEW FOR 2024: Groups will need to be re-created (if desired) for Round 2. Please follow the same process of designating a group leader and then sharing your group code. Please note this is a shift from past years when groups were not considered in round 2.

Students who are assigned in Round 2 will have two days to purchase their tickets or those tickets will be forfeited.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is available to students who need it. Fill out a help form to make arrangements.

Attending Football Games

Student tickets sold out for most games in the 2023 football season. We expect similar demand in the 2024 season. The current system works hard to create opportunities for students to gain T-Credits from a variety of sports to increase their chances of being assigned football tickets.

Students who only request tickets for big rival games, and do not attend other sporting events, are less likely to have the T-Credits to be assigned compared to those who have attended other sporting events and requested tickets for several games during the season.

Creating Groups when Requesting Home Tickets

Students who wish to sit together with other students must identify a group leader and request to be seated with the group leader during the request period. *Group seating is based on the average T-Credits of the entire group.

NEW FOR 2024: Groups will need to be re-created (if desired) for Round 2. Please follow the same process of designating a group leader and then sharing your group code.

Groups

When booking football tickets with a group, the group’s T-Credits will be the average of everyone’s T-Credits. When Round 1 happens, the entire group will either be accepted or rejected for seats to the game based on that group’s T-Credit average.

For example

  1. Mei has 8 T-Credits and Sandra has 0. Their group average would be 4 T-Credits. When Round 1 happened, Sandra and Mei were assigned tickets and seated together for the game.
  2. Jim has 7 T-Credits, Elijah has 0, Caleb has 1, and Jayden has 0. Their group average would be 2 T-Credits. When Round 1 happens, Jim, Elijah, Caleb and Jayden were not assigned tickets during Round 1. Everyone in the group is placed in Round 2 as individuals. If the group decides to reform during Round 2, the group is still being seen as their group average of 2 T-Credits. During Round 2, the group is assigned tickets, and are seated together for the game.

Group leaders: You will need to create a group name and password in the Rocky Top Rowdies section of the Tennessee Athletics App and share that information with those you’d like to have in your group.

NEW FOR 2024: Group maximums are now capped at 150.

NEW FOR 2024: Groups will need to be re-created (if desired) for Round 2. Please follow the same process of designating a group leader and then sharing your group code. Please note this is a shift from past years when groups were not considered in round 2.

  • Groups are defined as two or more individuals.
  • The maximum group size is 150.
  • Students who request to be seated with a group that has exceeded its maximum size of 150 are notified that the group is full.
  • For T-credit purposes, guest tickets included as part of the group have a value of zero.
  • Students who request to be seated with a group acknowledge that their chances of being assigned tickets are dependent on the T-Credit average of the entire group in the process.
