UT Recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness Month with Campus Events

Kickoff Event: Paint the Rock

The Rock (corner of Volunteer Boulevard and Pat Head Summitt Street)

Kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month by painting the Rock.

Hazing: Identify. Act. Prevent.
Monday, April 7, noon to 1 p.m.
Student Union, Room 362C

This interactive scenario-based program will discuss how to identify, act on and prevent hazing. Lunch will be provided for the first 30 attendees.

Meet Your Title IX Coordinator
Tuesday, April 8, 1 to 2 p.m.
John C. Hodges Library, outside Starbucks

Meet Title IX Coordinator Ashley Blamey to ask questions and provide feedback on how the Office of Title IX can improve its work to create and maintain a safe and nondiscriminatory learning, living and working environment.

Vols Walk for Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Wednesday, April 16, noon to 2 p.m.
Starting at the Student Union, 21st Mortgage Plaza

Join this walk to raise awareness about sexual assault. After the walk, enjoy refreshments, engage in educational activities and take home some event swag.

Vols ACT for Employees
Monday, April 21, noon to 1 p.m.
Student Union, Room 262C

This open training available to all UT employees will explore how to be an active bystander to help prevent sexual assault and other harmful behaviors. Lunch will be provided for the first 20 attendees.

Title IX Town Hall
Wednesday, April 23, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Student Union, Room 169 (livestream available)

Blamey will speak about the Office of Title IX’s 2024 annual report, 2025-26 policy and the broader landscape of Title IX. Lunch will be provided for the first 75 attendees starting at 11:30 a.m., and the presentation will begin at noon. A Q&A session will follow.

Thoughtful Thursdays: The Bystander Effect
Thursday, April 24, noon to 1:30 p.m.
International House, Room 100

Staff from the Office of Title IX will speak with participants about the bystander effect and the importance of Volunteers who speak up. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP by Friday, April 18.

Wednesday, April 30, 1 to 3 p.m.
Humanities Amphitheatre
