Campus Life on Rocky Top

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is ready to be your home sweet home!

UT is the home of the Volunteers, Neyland Stadium, Ayres Hall, and Smokey the Bluetick Coonhound. From your first step onto Rocky Top, there are limitless opportunities to get involved, make new friends, and make a difference in the local community.

Your Volunteer experience will start with all your firsts that are unique to UT:

Your first time dining at Rising Roll in the Student Union

Your first time singing Rocky Top in Neyland Stadium

Your first cram session in Hodges Library

Meeting new, maybe lifelong, friends is easy on our campus!

There are daily programs and events hosted by different Student Life offices such as Multicultural Student Life, the Center for Student Engagement, RecSports, and so many others. Sign up for Ignite with the Jones Center for Leadership and Service or become the campus voice through Student Media. You can find leadership opportunities in a sorority or fraternity, improve the campus environment by serving in the Student Government Association, and find your community in the lobby of your residence hall.

Living on campus is much more than a bed, a desk, and a roof over your head.

We provide safe, comfortable spaces you’ll be happy to call home during your time at UT—spaces where you’ll sleep, eat, study, play, discover friends, and make great memories—but that’s just the beginning. Whatever you want to do, there’s a student organization, office, or resource to help you make Rocky Top home.
