In collaboration with the Executive Director, this position provides executive level administrative support for University Housing. University Housing is an auxiliary operation with a team of over 250 full-time staff members and over 450 student positions and comprising four functional units. We aim to provide a foundation for student success and make our students feel at home sweet home on Rocky Top.

The Coordinator for Basic Needs plays a large role in providing individual support of students who are experiencing basic needs insecurities. This position does this through one-on-one student meetings, campus outreach and event planning, cultivating relationships with campus and community resources, and executing a robust social media strategy. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a network of resources for students in the Knoxville and surrounding community.

The Senior Service Supervisor position develops employee schedules and task assignments for the delivery of custodial services. They also conduct daily quality control inspections of assigned buildings to ensure completion of work assignments and adherence to quality standards. Furthermore, they meet regularly with administrative personnel to review schedules, tasks/projects, and quality control issues while coordinating hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations for staff in designated facilities. Lastly, they approve employee time.

The maintenance technician will be responsible for daily work orders as assigned by the maintenance supervisor. These include any maintenance issues in residential spaces to include plumbing, electrical, appliance, and HVAC repairs. The technician will also be responsible for preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.

The Service Supervisor position assists with the work group hiring process. They conduct daily quality control inspections of assigned areas to ensure completion of work assignments and adherence to quality standards, and report maintenance problems to supervisor as required. This individual also fills in for supervisors when and where needed.

The mechanical maintenance supervisor position’s project oversight includes performing in-depth assessments of mechanical systems, including building-wide HVAC systems and stand-alone units, plumbing systems, piping drain systems, chilled water supply and return systems, and steam supply and return systems.  The position will develop detailed reports of inspection findings including spreadsheets and charts and graphs and develop and initiate corrective actions for deficiencies noted.

This position’s personnel oversight includes supervising and providing day-to-day oversight of employee work including, but not limited to: HVAC system repairs and general mechanical repairs, manage personnel, including training, performance evaluations, personnel disciplinary actions and recommendations. This position will also conduct interviews of prospective applicants and makes recommendations on hiring.

his key member of the CCR team is responsible for the delivery of case management services in a manner that ensures quality, effective care that aligns with professional and ethical practices. The person in this role also serves as the primary supervisor for 2-4 members of the CCR team. Supervisees will be a combination of professional staff and interns.

This position will serve as the primary advisor for the Interfraternity Council, assist with the recruitment and selection process of council officers, and coordinate chapter membership recruitment and intake process. Additionally, the Coordinator empowers student leaders and advocates for students and attends organization meetings, council meetings, and programs on campus to strengthen connection with students. This position will meet individually and in groups with council and chapter leadership, and maintain strong working/collaborative relationships with chapter advisors, (inter)national headquarters, and supporters.

The Hall Director is an entry-level, exempt, full-time, 12-month, live in position with the Department of University Housing. The role has a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive residence life program focused on community development and student contact in residence halls housing between 517 and 1,084 predominately undergraduate students.
• Serve as the catalyst for student contact and development in the community and are designated as front-line staff members for staff supervision and development, student discipline, program development, on-call crisis protocol and facility management.
• Provide support to students experiencing academic challenges, mental health concerns, roommate conflicts, and personal concerns.
• Responsible for the selection, training, evaluation, and development of Graduate Assistant(s), Resident Assistants, and Office Assistants.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Informal Recreation Coordinator assists with all aspects of facilities management and manages the student staff dedicated to facilities operations. The role has a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Provides direction, training, oversight, and scheduling the Tennessee Recreation Center for Students (TRECS) and the Health and Physical Education Building (HPER) student staff.
• Provide consistency in enforcement of all facility policy and procedures.
• Coordinate space for program and event use.
• Plan, schedule and document all employee trainings.

This individual performs all functions of a campus comprehensive counseling center team member. The staff clinical psychologist provides brief assessment, crisis intervention, and traditional forms of psychotherapy (individual, groups, couples) while also engaging with the campus community via outreach and consultation services with faculty, staff, students, and families around mental health concerns. Psychologists in the center also provide training/supervision for master’s and doctoral level students in mental health professions, and advanced clinical training/supervision for interns in the center’s internship in psychology.
