Beginning Saturday, December 15, the x-ray facility at the Student Health Center will begin renovations to accommodate a brand-new x-ray machine. The Student Health Center provides an average of 15 x-ray diagnostic examinations per day when classes are in session and the current equipment has been pressed to keep up with demand. The new machine will meet growing diagnostic needs more efficiently and make use of all digital technology.
The new x-ray machine is expected to be operational sometime in mid-January. During this time of transition, students who believe they may need an x-ray should still seek care from the Student Health Center and the medical staff will determine if an x-ray is needed. X-rays will be scheduled at a local hospital or outpatient facility based on the student’s individual insurance coverage. Students receiving outpatient services will be contacted by the Student Health Center to determine appropriate follow-up care if necessary.
Students can schedule appointments with the Student Health Center online or by calling 865-974-3648.
If you believe you need to be seen the same day, contact the triage nurse at 865-974-5080.
The Student Health Center provides non-emergent medical care for UT students. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.
