UT’s Division of Student Life will host 180 campus-based fraternity and sorority life and conduct professionals along with international and national fraternity and sorority life headquarters staff for the first-ever SEC and Friends Summit. All 18 SEC and Friends schools will also be represented among attendees.
Organized by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life and by Student Conduct and Community Standards, the three-day event will provide professional development, networking opportunities, and breakouts on organizational misconduct.
“The Summit is a unique opportunity to bring together student conduct and fraternity and sorority life professionals with key headquarters staff to discuss important organizational misconduct issues,” says Hailey Flavin, assistant director of UT’s Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life and one of the event organizers. “With umbrella organizations in attendance, our hope is that The Summit will allow us to find common ground in addressing organizational misconduct practices and that attendees will have the opportunity to engage in conversations around best practices across the field.”
