Joining a peer mentoring program might be the perfect opportunity for you to adjust to life at UT! There are all kinds of different peer mentoring programs you can join to help you get off to the best start this fall.
What is a peer mentor?
A peer mentor is a fellow Vol who has been where you are. They’ve been new to UT just like you are now, looking to learn all that they can to succeed. And now, they want to help you succeed too! Whether an incoming student or a transfer student, teaming up with a peer mentor connects you to campus resources, events, programs, clubs, academic coaching, and more.
Multicultural Mentoring Program
The Multicultural Mentoring Program provides personal support, assistance, social guidance, and positive campus survival skills to first-year students of color by developing activities and interactions with upperclass students that address their personal needs in an effort to recruit, retain, and graduate students of color.
If you sign up for the Multicultural Mentoring Program, you will have the opportunity to join the MMP Connect Living and Learning Community! Living and Learning Communities provide you the opportunity to live in a community surrounded by a close-knit peer group, all pursuing a common goal or interest, as you develop relationships that aid in your transition to the University of Tennessee.
