The Student Health Center is dedicated to prioritizing the mental health of its student body and offers a robust array of resources and programs to support their well-being.

With a comprehensive range of programs and initiatives, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is dedicated to fostering a culture of mental health awareness and resilience among its students.

Center for Care and Resilience

The Center for Care and Resilience team works collaboratively with students and the university to support individuals who are experiencing distress in their lives. We gather information and assess the factors contributing to the concerns of a student, family member, or administrator. We meet with students to create and implement a plan that supports self-advocacy, growth, and a return to a level of functioning most likely to promote success. That plan includes connecting students to appropriate on-campus and community resources that best support their needs.

Office of Title IX

UT is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment free from sexual harassment (including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking), sexual exploitation, and retaliation.

The university strongly encourages you to report incidents of sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, or retaliation to the Office of Title IX. If you report prohibited conduct to the Office of Title IX, you are considered a complainant.

When you speak with a staff member at the Office of Title IX, they will keep your information as private as possible, within policy and process, work with you to evaluate your care and support needs, discuss your options under university policy, and empower you to obtain the care and support you need.

At the time you report to the Office of Title IX you do not have to decide to file a formal complaint or choose any particular course of action. Coming to the Office of Title IX does not obligate you to initiate a university investigation by filing a formal university complaint or report the incident to law enforcement unless you choose to do so.

More information about support and resources provided to complainants is available on the Office of Title IX website

The policy on sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking is also available.
