Outreach

The Student Counseling Center offers community intervention programs from our professional staff. Our goal is to support student organizations, academic departments, and other campus entities. Providing Care for All Vols Suicide prevention training is a specific focus.

Workshops and Presentations

We are glad to provide psycho-educational presentations on certain topics, such as QPR Suicide Prevention, Coping with Stressful Situations, Accessing the Counseling Center, and others. We also offer stress and wellness workshops on topics such as assertiveness, time management, and self-care for well-being.

Our staff may also be able to create a presentation or workshop specific to your classroom’s or organization’s needs. To do so, please fill out our outreach request form.

Community Partnerships

Staff at the Student Counseling Center can also provide community support for university events such as university wellness fairs or serve on campus committees, such as the Commission for LGBT+ Communities. We also strive to form liaison relationships with other campus departments, with the intent of building special connections with both student-led organizations and clubs and university offices. If you would like to request a meeting with a Student Counseling Center staff person to discuss having an official liaison to your organization, please email our outreach coordinator James Arnett at jarnett3@utk.edu.
