Internship Program Admissions

Information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:

  • Our internship program prepares interns as strong generalists for entry level, doctoral positions in the practice of health service psychology. Potential applicants will be assessed for level of fit based on the following criteria:
    • Clinical experience, counseling center experience, multicultural competence, supervision experience, group experience, crisis experience, outreach experience, ability to engage in self-reflection, cover letter, essays, and letters of recommendation.
  • Our internship program prepares interns as strong generalists for entry level, doctoral positions in the practice of health service psychology. Potential applicants will be assessed for level of fit based on the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program in counseling or clinical psychology
  • Completion of all required course work
  • Minimum of 300 direct clinical contact hours
  • Minimum of 3 years of graduate training
  • Applicants must pass comprehensive exams by the ranking deadline
  • Approval of dissertation proposal is strongly preferred
