Tennessee Recreation Center for Students
Tennessee Recreation Center for Students (TRECS) offers strength and cardio spaces, group fitness studios, and indoor courts to enhance holistic wellness.
The Student Aquatic Center
The Student Aquatic Center (SAC) features swimming areas and aquatic programs for both advanced and beginning swimmers.
RecSports Sutherland Field Complex
The RecSports Sutherland Field Complex boasts an impressive 38 acres of fields, including two softball fields, four turf fields, four natural grass fields, and three sand volleyball courts.
Health and Physical Education Building
The Health and Physical Education Building (HPER) has activity spaces which RecSports uses for a variety of activities including basketball, volleyball, badminton, and racquetball.
Outdoor Facilities
TRECS Turf Field (RecSports Field)
As the primary outdoor area for informal recreation activities, the TRECS Turf Field features field turf, electric scoreboards, and accessible spaces. The field is available for all individuals, RecSports-related teams, and recreation groups. Located between TRECS and Tom Black, the field spans nearly 2.5 acres.
Tennis & Pickleball Courts
Located between the TRECS parking lot and HPER facility are six lighted tennis courts and sixteen lighted pickleball courts. These courts are used for intramural play as well as informal recreation and are lighted during TRECS evening operation hours.
Scout Locker
Scout Locker is an outdoor remote training area located adjacent to the outdoor tennis courts and Tom Black Track. This space includes pull up stations, a rope climb, free weights and bars, and additional equipment to support various types of training.
Paddleball & Handball Courts
The paddleball and handball courts are located on the lower level of TRECS directly adjacent to Tom Black Track. This popular area houses four courts ready for racquet-sport practice and friendly competition.
Sand Volleyball Court
Located along the east side of the Student Aquatic Center (SAC) is the sand volleyball court. Mainly used for informal recreation, programmed events and volleyball matches are held at this location throughout the year.
