Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at UT is composed of six culturally-based sororities and fraternities.

Registered student organizations operate independently of the University of Tennessee, with some receiving guidance and support from university departments. The university encourages student organizations to promote civil and social awareness, but it does not endorse their activities or viewpoints. To view a full list of registered organizations, visit Volink.

The primary purpose of the Multicultural Greek Council is to unite its member organizations in order to share ideas and resources, promote mutual respect and equality, provide a support network for involved students, and collectively accomplish goals set forth by the council members.

Founded in 2002, MGC and its member organizations are united by their aspirations to increase awareness of their respective cultures, to serve the UT community, and to maintain high academic standards. The council coordinates activities between member organizations through social, fundraising, and community service events. MGC hosted events are open to all, and anyone who is interested in learning more about MGC and its member organizations are encouraged to attend.
