Advisor Conference

Registration

Complete this form to register for the Summer Advisors Conference! Frequently asked questions and more information are listed below. Advisors play an impactful role in our community, so we encourage each organization to have at least one advisor and one housing volunteer (if applicable) attend the summer conference. If chapters are able to send multiple, we want all advisors to register independently for an accurate registration number. Questions can be directed to greeklife@utk.edu.

FAQs

What/Who do I need to bring?

A binder of materials and pen will be provided during the conference! If you’d like to bring a notebook for additional note taking, that is very common. You should also bring the rest of your advisory board or housing corporation to make the most of the conference – ensure they RSVP!

Is there more than one track at the conference?

Yes! During the educational sessions, there will be a specific track for housing corporations that will differ from the chapter advisor track.

What if I serve as the chapter advisor AND on the house corporation?

We highly suggest that you send more than one person to represent the chapter to the advisor conference to get the full experience. There will be many breakout sessions available during the day that one person will not be able to attend alone. If you are the only person advising the chapter, the binder provided by OSFL will be full of information. Contact greeklife@utk.edu or your council advisor specifically if there was a topic or presentation that you wanted to see but were not able to.

What sessions are going to be available during the conference?

Based on the feedback from previous years as well as a survey sent out in the spring semester, the following topics will be covered in main sessions as well as breakout sessions: state of sorority & fraternity life, UTK master planning, advising generation Z, engaging and recruiting alumni volunteers, campus climate, family engagement, care & resilience, UTPD, student conduct and community standards, community service, SOFE, Title IX, house director & manager training, OSFL policies, and more!

Where do I park?

The conference will be held in Mossman Hall. Parking can be found in 11th Street Garage near Cumberland House Hotel and along the street.
