Mr. Pug Fuller, a distinguished brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism through his unwavering dedication to the University of Tennessee, Greek life, Black alumni, and Divine Nine organizations. Known for his ever-present camera at events, Pug is a familiar face and steadfast supporter of his community, ensuring that the contributions of others are recognized and celebrated. In the fall of 2023, Pug received the inaugural “Pug Fuller” Alumni Engagement Award, established by Multicultural Student Life to honor his decades of commitment to supporting MSL at UT. As a founding member of the Iota Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., initiated on April 1, 1971, he was instrumental in establishing the first historically Black fraternity at the university, forging a significant path for Black students and alumni. Pug has served in numerous roles, including Keeper of Records and chapter advisor for over 20 years, guiding new generations of fraternity members. He has also documented countless memories as a photographer for both the fraternity and the 5th District. His initiative to start the Sundresses and Cigars event for the Iota Alpha Chapter has fostered community and connection among members. Beyond his fraternity involvement, Pug has worked tirelessly to unite generations of Black alumni as a founding member of the Black Alumni Association, where he has been active for over 20 years. In his professional life, Pug has a rich background in education, spanning over 30 years. His roles include Director of Institutional Research at Knoxville College, Title III Director at Tusculum College, and Knoxville Black History Instructor at UT, along with serving as Assistant Principal at Webster and Central Middle Schools. It is with great honor that we celebrate Pug Fuller—a man dedicated to creating a vibrant and supportive community for students. His contributions as a mentor and community leader have left a lasting mark on the university and its alumni.
